Current world champion Kelly Slater participate in cleaning up Bali not just by talking but acting.
At first he donated his surf board then not only that, but Slater also wants to give his time, energy, and money in making Bali clean. Imagine that, a foreigner and not an Indonesian citizen that has that much attention to our beloved vacation land-Bali, Indonesia.
While spending time in Bali in between stops on the ASP World Tour visiting friends, Slater got surprised and a bit mad seing the large amount of trash that’s in the water and on the beach of Bali.
Slater already start his effort on cleaning Bali since April 2012 by sending many tweet on his twitter to provoke his followers on keeping Bali clean, and has been a very large number mentions in the twitter it self and web’s. Also for sure in Australia news which is Bali’s largest tourist market.
So following his effort in cleaning up Bali, after the twitter Slater donate his surf board for bidding that will be hosted by Quiksilver Indonesia and he will match the final number of the bidding him self with his own money and time to help clean up Bali. The money will go to a local non-profit environmental foundation ‘ROLE’ that runs by a guy named Michael O’Leary.
The act of cleaning up Bali also got supported by two big companies Quiksilver and Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia that has been back to back on this issue since 2008 and will do so again this June 2012 on their 2nd annual Big Bali Eco Weekend on Kuta Beach where they will pass on the will of cleaning up Bali not only to the people of Bali but to the government both local and Indonesian government.
