Last Thursday July 12th 2012 at the Farnborough International Airshow in London Garuda Indonesia has been named as The World’s Best Regional Airline by Skytrax, a Britain-based commercial airline services reviewer from nominations such as Europe, South America and more.

Not only that but Garuda Indonesia also won the Best Regional Airline in Asia award that been handed by Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted which was personally received by Garuda’s CEO Emirsyah Satar.

Emirsyah said that this is all made possible because of the hard work by everyone involved, and that Garuda will continue to improve and give its best services to its passengers in its Quantum Leap policy.

The Best Regional Airline in Asia award was based on a global survey on 18 million passengers from 100 different nationalities involving 200 airlines.

Until 2015 the airline expects to expand its fleet with another 102 aircrafts to reach a total of 194 planes ‘Emirsyah added. Also in the future Garuda plans to operate flights to Europe’s Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rome and Milan when conditions are conducive.
